Match enquiries to the ads by a coded email or phone

When somebody fills in your form after clicking an ad, Adducta tells Google which click brought them, so Google learns which searches bring people worth calling. Usually the click itself is enough. Sometimes it is lost: the person came back later, on another device, or their browser dropped it. Matching by a coded email or phone finds those too. It takes three things, about five minutes in all.

The short version

01What it does, and what it never does

With each enquiry, Adducta sends Google the email address or phone number the person typed, coded one way (hashed) so that Google receives a fingerprint, not the address. Google compares it with the fingerprints of its own signed-in users and finds the ad click behind the enquiry. The more enquiries Google can tie to clicks, the faster it learns which searches are worth your money.

02The line beside your form

Google's customer data policy asks that the people filling in the form are told, where they fill it in. Put one sentence right under the submit button on every page your ads lead to, for example:

If you came from an ad, a coded copy of your email or phone may go to Google to measure it.

Your privacy policy should say the same in its list of who receives information. Ad landing pages on AgentMind realtor sites carry the line and the policy wording already.

04Switch it on in Adducta

In your dashboard, open Settings, Tracking, tick Match enquiries to the ads by a hash of their email address or phone number, and save. The order of this step and the Google Ads one does not matter.

05How you know it works

The Before launch list on your dashboard checks all three for you. It reads each page your ads lead to for the line beside the form, asks your Google Ads account whether it takes coded details, and looks at the switch. The step turns green with "Enquiries are matched to the ads by a coded email or phone" only when all three are done; until then it names what is missing, page by page.
