AI tools to run Google Ads for a small business

"AI for Google Ads" covers very different things: a bid setting inside Google, a tool that suggests changes for a person to make, and an agent that does the whole job. Which one fits depends less on the AI than on a plain question: who is going to run the ads?

The short version

We make Adducta, so read the comparison with that in mind. Every competitor price below is from its own pricing page.

All prices are in US dollars, as each company publishes them. Most of these tools offer a free trial; Adducta's free start is a written plan for your business, with no account and no card.

02Start with what Google already gives you

Every Google Ads account already has AI in it: Smart Bidding sets the bid for each auction, responsive search ads test combinations of your headlines, and the recommendations page suggests changes. It is free and it has more data than anybody else. What it will not do is decide what you should be advertising, stop spending on searches that bring the wrong people, or tell you which enquiries were worth a call. Its recommendations also tend to raise spend, so read them before you accept them.

Whatever you choose, get conversion tracking right first. Every bidding system, Google's and everybody else's, learns only from what you tell it a good result was.

03Tools that suggest, for people who run the ads

Adzooma has a free plan with monthly reports and a few alerts; Silver (US$69) and Gold (US$179) make them weekly and daily. Opteo lists improvements each day and applies the ones you approve; Basic is US$129 a month for up to 10 accounts and US$25,000 of spend. Optmyzr is the deepest of the three, with rules, scripts and audits, and is priced by ad spend.

All three assume a person who knows Google Ads and has time to act on what they find. For an agency or an in-house specialist that is exactly right. For an owner who has neither, a list of suggestions is another job.

04Tools that act on their own

Ryze AI (US$89 a month) adjusts bids and budgets on Google, Meta and other platforms by itself, inside the campaigns you have. It is a good fit if your campaigns already exist and you want them tended.

Adducta starts earlier and ends later. From six questions about the business it writes the plan: where the money goes, what the ads say, which searches to buy and which to block, and what a lead should cost. Once you approve it, the agent builds and runs the Google search campaigns, moves money toward what produces enquiries every day, checks spending every 5 minutes and stops everything by itself if a day runs past 2.3 times your limit. Every enquiry is graded hot, warm or cold, so you call the people worth calling, and the grades go back to Google so its bidding learns which clicks became customers.
