Before you sign up for anything

See what the agent would actually do

Six questions about your business, and it comes back with the plan it would run: which platforms and why, what the ads would say, what to buy and what to block, what a lead should cost, and what is wrong with the brief. No account. No card. It takes a minute or two because it is thinking about your business rather than filling in a template.

Nothing is sent until the last step.

01What comes back

One document, and it names things rather than describing them. Which of Google, Facebook, Instagram and Bing your money should go to, and why those and not the others. What the ads would actually say, in words you could read out loud. Which searches to buy and which to block, because on a small budget the second list is usually where the money is saved. What one enquiry should cost you at the budget you gave, so the first month has a number to be judged against. And what is wrong with the brief you typed, which is the part people expect least.

It arrives by email, usually inside a minute or two. Slower than a form because a model is reading your business and deciding, rather than dropping your town name into a template.

02Why there is no card

Nothing on this page signs you up for anything. There is no account to create and no payment details to enter. The only thing kept is the address you ask us to send it to, used for the plan and nothing else, on the terms in the privacy policy. Two plans per address, which is a limit on the model's time rather than on you.

If you read it and want the advertising run, the next step is about fifteen minutes on a call, once: your card, your accounts, your name on the ads. You see and approve the first campaign before a dollar is spent.

If you read it and do nothing, that is a normal outcome, and you will not hear from us about it.

03If the budget is too thin, the plan says so

Below roughly a thousand dollars a month of advertising spend there is not enough data for the advertising platforms to learn from, or for anybody else. When the number you give is under that, the plan says so plainly instead of describing a campaign that would not work.

That answer costs us the client. It is still the one worth giving before you have paid rather than after, and it is why the budget question sits on this form instead of arriving once you are committed.

When there is a fee, it is one monthly figure and never more than a fifth of what you spent. Advertise two hundred dollars in a quiet month and the fee follows the work down instead of sitting at its band.

04The fifth question is the one that matters

Four of the six are what any agency would ask. The fifth, what makes an enquiry worth your time, is marked optional and is the one worth answering properly.

Everyone in advertising reports clicks, because clicks are easy to count. What actually arrives is forty enquiries of which perhaps nine are worth a phone call. Every one of them is graded against the answer you give here, so worth calling means what you meant by it rather than what a piece of software assumed. Ready now with the budget confirmed is a different thing from real but months out, and both are different again from somebody who was browsing.

Plain words are enough. Ready to book, pre-approved, a budget over a number, a particular part of town.
